Photos and documents
Adding and viewing photos associated with an object is simple in BosqMap and unlike MapInfo's Hotlink function there is not a limit to the number of photos or documents that can be attached. Photos and documents are moved and renamed and accessed through the BosqMap data display dialog.
To add photos or documents to objects the user presses the ‘Photos’ or ‘Documents’ button on the BosqMap data display dialog. The photograph display dialog or document display dialog is displayed and the selects attach:
The photos and documents name can be set to be a combination of columns and free text, in this case the expression relates to the state then the country and then the text 'election' (this data is from the 2000 US presidential election from downloaded from directions mag)-
Permissions can be set so that users can attach and delete or view only.
The location of photographs can be absolute or relative in relation to the .tab file and there is no limit to the numbers of photographs or documents that can be attached to each object.
This function can be particularly useful when setting up a file management system for desk based users who may wish to see reports, invoices and photos linked to a map object - examples pages for further ideas.
When a column which contains information on which a document or photo is named and documents or photos exist, the user is asked if they wish to change the document or photos name. In this case if the state was changed to Texas, the user would be asked if they also wished to change the name of the photograph before exiting the data display dialog.
